When students participate in the design and production of public art for their school or neighborhood, they not only experience the joy of creative expression, but also the immense validation from being part of a local legacy. These feelings of accomplishment have remarkable endurance and, for many students, provide the foundation for a lifetime of art appreciation. This bolsters self-esteem and fosters a can-do approach to overcoming creative challenges.
